aa thank you anon, and no, no problem at all! i’m really bad at explaning but i hope you can understand. my coloring is pretty simple!
first, have a thing with its base colors, i decided to draw an aqua really quickly ((rip
next, decide light source and atmosphere!
i wanted the atmosphere to be somewhat cold, so i used a purple-ish color as the shading color (tbh i just really like blue with red/purple in general laughs) i might not include the color theory here, however
i’ll make a quick sketch shading first,
just to put down how i imagine the shading would be. then i’ll just clean it up
the shading layer is set to multiply with fringe ((i love fringe))
when i’m lazy, i usually stop here, but let’s make it more interesting and add some gradients onto the base colors! just choose a neighbour hue for the gradient color and everything will be fine
i blend it with the water tool
don’t over do it though, leave out the small details
with the shading layer
let’s add some depth into it too because why not - make a new layer and set it to shade, i used a lighter purple-hued gray, blend/blur it out as well
after that, let’s just spam some colors onto the shading layer!! as i said earlier, i like blue with red hues so i went with pink
blend and set the layer to overlay, i also colored the lines a bit
some tweaks and stuffs and it’s done!
you can always change the shading color to give it a different feel! the base colors are unadjusted
with a solid orange colored layer above everything else, set as shade (18% opacity or so)
